The Pooch

FYI for those of you who don't know my stomach intimately :-)...that is a normal lower stomach pooch that I've always had and I don't want to hear anyone saying I didn't have it. Trust me--it is easily hidden so you would never know.

Belly Shots!

Finally - here you go!

Click here to view the before baby stomach :-) These were July 2008 and April 2008.

Here's the belly shot at 16 weeks. Don't mind those stretch marks I already have from before!

Here's a front shot. The Pilates definition is now gone :-( That's my ugly scar where I had a mole removed this year. Imagine what that's gonna look like soon. Ick!

Pictures & Survey

I've had several requests from friends and family to get some belly pictures online (i.e. "get a belly would ya!" -loving sister; and "we want photos, we want photos!" -loving friend) so I will try to get those up soon. Not too exciting yet, but definitely thicker if you know me.

Maybe I'll post a before picture of me in Vegas in July in my bikini so you can get an idea of the original Lynn body. :-) Then I'll post the 4 month photo (officially 16 weeks tomorrow!)

Also - I added a survey to my blog. Boy or girl? We'll find out in about 2 weeks!

I'm the Lucky One

I have to admit that this pregnancy has been very good to me so far compared to the stories I've heard from women getting horrible morning sickness, etc. I had a taste of it recently when I didn't take my prenatal vitamin with food . . . even though the bottle clearly says to take on an empty stomach, you HAVE to take that thing with food. I even asked the doc and she said yes, with food. Anyway, one day last week I think I ate too fast and then took the vitamin at the same time. Well, my food apparently didn't digest in time so a few minutes later it hit me like a mack truck while I was blow drying my hair. Instant gagging over the toilet and literally the worst nauseous feeling! Ugh, if I had to put up with that every day, I don't know what I'd do.

I've had my bad days, but they usually involve major bloating, gas, heartburn and tiredness (which can be bad enough). My stomach is really starting to stay out there now, so I've ordered some maternity jeans online and hopefully they fit now and are long enough.

Three?!?!

That title freaked you out didn't it? Well, I had another baby dream last night and this one involved the doctor seeing THREE babies. One doctor was arguing with the other saying she looked at the ultrasound wrong and there were multiple babies in there! Then later in the dream, the female doctor said they were just kidding! Okay...not funny! In the dream when I heard the doctor saying there were three, I remember almost crying and I don't think they were tears of joy :-) Can you imagine? I don't know how people do it with multiples. All the possible complications and worrying about where to come up with money for three babies instantly...talk about stress.

Anyway, my sister is the one who wants twins. Twins would be neat, but three is really pushing it! Luckily, it was only a dream and we'll be perfectly happy with one little boy or girl.

3rd OB Appointment

I had my third OB appointment yesterday and everything went great. It was just a follow-up appointment, so it was a quick one. I asked some questions and heard the heartbeat again. This time they were able to hear it with the regular handheld doppler. The nurse practitioner said the heartbeat sounded fast and regular and that the baby was moving around a lot. That's always a good sign!

We also scheduled my next appointment in 5 weeks. I will have my regular checkup and also an ultrasound to hopefully find out the sex of the baby. The appointment is November 7, so we'll be eagerly waiting!

Feeling a Little Icky

Well, I kind of had a rough week in not feeling so hot. If you must know . . . gas and bloating galore! I had to cancel a Pilates class on Tuesday, which in turn made the new gym manager very angry, which made me extremely angry. She was completely out of line and doesn’t even know I’m pregnant, but thought it best to question someone she’s never spoken to or met. There is a firmly worded letter already drafted to her and her manager. That whole situation made the emotions run wild again. :-)

On a lighter note, I’m still fitting into most of my clothes. The pants are getting uncomfortable and I prefer dresses right now. The in between stage is kind of annoying! I also checked out a few pregnancy books—OK, 5—from the library and two exercise DVDs. I’ve already read a little two far into one of them, finding out labor and delivery info I am not ready to deal with!

This weekend should be somewhat relaxing. I am hanging out with friends tonight and then teaching Pilates in the morning and going for my follow-up appointment at the OB. Jeff has national guard duty so he’s busy all weekend. I’ll probably be cleaning the house and doing laundry a lot. Scratch that relaxing weekend thing!
