I thought this would be the perfect age to start Andrew with swim lessons so we signed up with a local company (same company that also does Fitness Fest that I attend every year) and today was his first day.
He did great, but was a little apprehensive. He didn’t cry, but seemed a little scared at first. It was a small group of four and Andrew was the youngest. The instructor seemed really nice and fun and we had a great time! He practiced floating on his back, “swimming” for a toy, climbing out of the pool, jumping in and blowing bubbles—all with my help of course! The instructor dunked him under one time at the end of class and he seemed OK with it :-) Way to go Andrew! Daddy’s dreams of you becoming a Coast Guardsmen are already in the works.
He got to wear his new Snoopy swim trunks I bought on clearance this summer. I didn’t think they would already fit, so good thing I bought 18 months. No pictures this time, but next time I will because Jeff will be with us. Yay!

First Word at 10 Months!
Little Andrew Thomas turned 10 months on Wednesday and now I have to officially start planning the perfect 1st birthday party because these last two "baby" months are going to fly by I just know it! I seriously feel like I JUST wrote the 9-month stats.
It's been an exciting 10-month birthday week because I believe Mr. Andrew has said his very first word! You're not going to believe this, but my mom and sister heard it too. He said he own name!! He said ANDREW! It was amazing and unreal, but he did repeat it several times after I said it, so I'm counting it. Well, I guess it's the word he hears the most because he is the center of my world right now. Day in and day out, we're together and I can never stop smooching him.

Also exciting this week, Andrew and I attended our first official playgroup together with some very nice ladies in Gilbert. I found this nice group of Christian moms on meetup.com and everyone was super nice. Andrew had a blast playing with all of the new toys and kids. He is already working on making the girls cry by grabbing their shirts and trying to pull hair. Ugh. Boys are so rough.
Now we're celebrating Valentine's Day this week and I'm glad I have at least one of my favorite guys to celebrate with. Jeff will be home to us in less than 2 weeks!! The countdown really begins. I can't imagine how I will be feeling when I get to re-introduce Jeff to our wonderful angel who is now practically a little boy. Oh my he is going to be surprised and so happy. We get 2 weeks with him and we'll take all we can get.

- Clapping
- Almost waving
- Pulling up and grabbing at everything
- Looking more like mommy (so say my friends and even a stranger today)

The First Ear Infection
Now I have seen Andrew "sick" before, but the sick I've seen is snot, coughing and some mild crabbiness to go along with this. His first ear infection was somewhat worse unfortunately!
I knew something was wrong because my little amazing sleeper/super smiley boy wasn't either of these things. I could tell that cry was a hurting cry. Reminded me of when he was a little baby and that reflux was probably bothering him. I can usually handle crying, but only if I'm able to comfort him. This time was different and it was so sad. With sad cries we got ready to go to Goodnight Pediatrics at 10:30 p.m. on Friday night. Luckily he stopped crying in the car and seemed better at the doctor's office. Too much to check out around him!
They determined he had an ear infection and gave him a breathing treatment to help with the congestion in his chest. Finally got home around midnight and thankfully he went right to sleep once home. Still woke up at 6 a.m. the next morning though...He has an internal clock that he never changes!
With antibiotics, he was better by Sunday thank God!
Let's hope this weekend is better, because the weekend before this it was me sick with the flu. Bad/good news was that my friend Lexie was here. Bad that our weekend was cut short, but good she was here to take over all day Saturday while I was super sick! Andrew didn't mind one bit that she was taking over for me--he could tell she was a great mommy.

Now that's the face I like to see!
